Selling Smarter, Not Harder: iPhone Sales Made Swift on Mobiceller

If you have decided to sell your iPhone today, selling or trading it can help reduce the price of a new one. However, this involves more than just handing over the phone and waiting for cash. Privacy concerns arise with phones, including iCloud photos and personal data within apps. Wiping your phone and backing up all data is crucial before selling it. Mobiceller, the best iPhone-selling platform, brings a step-by-step guide to prepare your phone for sale, and offers a reputable platform to sell it for the best value.

Backup

To ensure your data is not lost, back up your iPhone before deleting it. To do this, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now. If you're using Mac OS 10.15 or later, select your iPhone in Finder and click on General. If you're using iTunes, connect your phone, open iTunes, click on the image of your phone, select Summary, and then choose Back Up Now. For Windows users, connect your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes, click on Summary, and then select Back Up Now. This will ensure your data is not lost during the process.

Turn off the iPhone Locator

Apple's Find My app, previously known as Find My iPhone, can sometimes block activation by a new owner. To deactivate the app, go to Settings > [your name] > Find My, turn off Find My [device], enter your Apple ID password, and tap Turn Off. For iOS 13 or later, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud, turn off Find My [device], enter your Apple ID password, and tap Turn Off.

Sign Out of Messages

iPhone users who switched platforms without logging out of Messages experienced issues where messages from other iOS users were received by the old iPhone instead of the new device. The problem is now fixable and affects only those switching from iOS to Android. To prevent this, go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage off.

Sign Out from iCloud

Before selling your device, ensure you sign out of iCloud, iTunes, and the App Store by going to Settings > [your name], entering your Apple ID password, and tapping Turn Off.

Unpair Accessories

To unpair your Air Pods or Air Pods Pro from your iPhone, follow these steps:

  • Place your Air Pods or Air Pods Pro near your iPhone and go to Settings > Bluetooth. Tap the information icon next to your Air Pods and select Forget this Device.
  • If you have an Apple Watch, unpair it from your iPhone by placing them near each other and opening the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tap All Watches, select the info circle next to the watch you want to unpair and tap Unpair Apple Watch.
  • If you're selling your iPhone, remove your cellular plan, which you'll need to cancel if you don't plan to pair your watch with a new iPhone.

Remove SIM Card

Apple's iPhone 14 lineup uses eSIM, but older devices have a physical SIM card. It is acceptable to trade in a phone with the SIM card intact: just deactivate the cell service and trade it in. However, the SIM card contains your phone number, security data, and billing information – so it is a good idea to remove your SIM card before you trade your device in. To remove it before selling, locate the SIM ejector, insert a paper clip, and remove the SIM card. Replace the tray, and you're done.

Privacy First!

Mobiceller will send you instructions how to delete your data from your device before sending it to us. If you forget to do it, don’t worry! We remove all data before processing any device – however, please note that this will slow down the testing process. If you have any other questions, we are happy to help! We pride ourselves to provide personalised customer service and prompt responses to your questions and concerns.

Final Words

Recycling devices help protect the environment and enables those unable to afford them to buy quality, refurbished devices, all the while benefiting the environment too. Selling your old device will get you money and will provide a great service to the world!
